Coach Phil graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Psychology while also obtaining his Master’s Degree (M.Ed) from Arizona State in Educational Leadership.

As a young man growing up in the Chicago area, Coach Phil has always had a passion for helping people which is why he was an educator for 10 years as a teacher, dean, and principal. His passion for helping people combined with his love for basketball has made him very influential in the basketball community.

Coach Phil believes “in order to get where you are going, you have to know about where you are going”. This is why every opportunity provided, he speaks and conducts workshops all over the country about “The Realities Of College Basketball, “What to Consider When Choosing a High School or College, and “What It takes to be a D1 athlete. He strives to help, assist or save, student-athletes and families from the repeated cycles set by others before them.

“Anybody can make a decision but I am here to make sure student-athletes and families make informed decisions by thinking about the things they should consider and the questions they should ask along their basketball journey”.
